However, because the inaugural championship was vacant, Commissioner Geoff Rey has decreed that Fight Night #2 will feature a courtesy rematch. If he was not the champion, he will be ranked the #2 Contender, to give some else a title shot. By CBC rules, a champion who loses the previous Fight Night title bout is granted a rematch.
